Our Story
After several years of custom home building in Orange County, Southern California, the partnership of Scott and Greg Yonkman moved to Whidbey Island and established Yonkman Construction in 1979. The firm weathered the difficult economy of the early '80s and has grown steadily through the years.
In late 2020 Scott and Greg Yonkman determined it was time to hand off the ownership and leadership of the company they had founded. At the beginning of 2021, Yonkman Construction was sold to a long-time and key employee, Curtis Banta.
Scott and Greg will continue with the company as employees and advisors for the foreseeable future.
Curtis' vision is to preserve the Yonkman Construction tradition of building quality custom homes keeping with the reputation built by Scott and Greg and continue to build that reputation in the years to come.
